EOR ETC Pilot Continues to See Positive Oil Response

For everyone who has been following us on this journey of Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) innovations, we have some exciting news to share!

Our first EOR pilot was a technical success after completing the injection of the first Huff-N-Puff cycle back in October 2021.

We were able to …

  • Re-pressurize the reservoir

  • Prove the concept of using injected slugs of water to compress injected gas at low-surface pressures

  • Provide gas containment in the reservoir drainage area by means of the injected water

  • Use a selected surfactant in the water to enhance oil recovery

During the past several months of flow-back, oil production has been boosted in the pilot well, and the offset wells are also seeing a boost in production, which was a pleasant surprise.

Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) innovations

This means that there is a positive oil response on the entire pad to our injection process and now the task is to quantify it.

With each additional week, the trend lines are clearer, and confidence increases in quantifying the production boost. The only road from here is forward and leads to more pilot projects. We look forward to providing you with more detail in the near future on the success we’ve seen thus far.

If you’re interested in trying out our low-cost EOR process as a service, we are targeting unconventional shale oil reservoirs in the US. Please contact: brian@eoretc.com.
